Maintaining a parking facility in top condition should be an important priority for parking managers. Managing a continuous facility maintenance program is not only cost-effective, it makes the facility cleaner, safer, and more inviting to customers and potential clients.

The Parking Operations Maintenance Certificate Program will examine the critical elements of a parking facility maintenance program. It will demonstrate how to develop a maintenance program, how to manage and budget the resources for the program, and how to adopt to changing circumstances.


The class is based on chapter 8 of the NPA Certified Parking Professional Guidebook and the NPA Parking Facility Maintenance Manual. It includes maintenance on electrical, heating and AC systems, winterization programs, and structural maintenance.

At the end of this class, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of a condition assessment for a parking facility.
  • Describe a maintenance program for the many components found in a parking facility.
  • Learn how to inspect and maintain floors, expansion and construction joints, stair and elevator towers and structural steel elements and much more.
  • Describe the causes of concrete deterioration.
  • Learn how concrete deterioration can be prevented.


The course is ideal for parking managers, and supervisory level employees in commercial, municipal, health care, airport, and other parking operations.
