Are you interested in earning the CPP designation but don’t know where to start? Do you want to know how to study for, and successfully complete, the CPP exam? This initial CPP calls will provide attendees with an overview of the Certified Parking Professional designation, and the certification application and renewal process. The class will also give attendees the opportunity to answer some of the CPP practice exam questions, guided by a CPP instructor, in an interactive question-and-answer session.

This CPP class is for both CPP candidates as well as parking managers planning to lead a group or team of employees through the CPP process. The class will examine and demonstrate how to prepare a typical study roadmap, and what resources are available through NPA to do this. It will also demonstrate how to set up and lead CPP study group or team of students as well as how to prepare for the CPP exam.

This interactive session will explore some of the questions in the CPP exam and give students an opportunity to answer these questions under exam conditions. In addition, it will provide students an opportunity to discuss some questions, as a group, and with the CPP faculty.

1:15 - 2:15 pm CPP Study Guide Chapter 6: Disaster Planning
From weather-related issues to active shooters in the workplace, emergencies can affect parking facilities and operations just like any other business. Certified Parking Professionals must be prepared to cope with these large-scale emergency situations diligently, professionally, and effectively to manage risk, safeguard employees and patrons, and protect their business assets. This program will demonstrate the appropriate steps to take to prepare in advance for an emergency situation. It will examine different types of emergencies that affect parking operations from natural ones like weather to human related emergencies like terrorism and operational disasters like fire or flooding situations. It will also include an opportunity for attendees to test their knowledge by answering some CPP practice exam questions. This class is based on the content in chapter 6 of the CPP Study Guide: Disaster Planning.

Valet operations are becoming an increasingly important part of a parking operator’s profile whether in the commercial, municipal, university, event and healthcare arenas. This class will examine the fundamentals of valet parking operations including management of operations, safety and customer service. It will also include an opportunity for attendees to test their knowledge by answering some CPP practice exam questions. The class is based on the content in chapter 13 of the CPP Study Guide: Valet Parking.

3:45 – 4:45 pm CPP Study Guide Chapter 15: Sustainable Parking
Sustainable parking is not just good for the environment, it’s good for business. This class will examine the steps that parking operators can take to manage their operations in an environmentally responsible manner. It will review ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle in office environments; outline the components of greener parking operations; and demonstrate how to reduce pollution as surface cleaning and other maintenance operations are performed. The class will also examine how parking operations can generate additional revenue by charging fees to "plug in" electric vehicles. It will also include an opportunity for attendees to test their knowledge by answering some CPP practice exam questions. This class is based on the content in chapters 15 of the CPP Study Guide: Sustainable Parking.
